Pricing rules
By default, the price that a product imported from AliExpress appears for sale on DropWired will be the same price that the item costs on AliExpress (which you have the option to change).
But, when you import products from AliExpress, DropWired can automatically set a selling price for you (which you still have the option to adjust).
When setting a selling price, DropWired can either apply a fixed £ 'markup' (i.e. increase) or can multiply the AliExpress price by a 'multiplier'.
Before deciding what values to use, you may want to read our help guide about determining product sales prices for some advice and guidance.
Price multiplier
A price multiplier setting will automatically multiply the price of the product or variation on AliExpress.
For example, a product on AliExpress costs £2.50, you set your price multiplier to 2, so 2 x £2.50 = £5.00, so on DropWired the price of the product will appear as £5.00.
This is shown in the example below.
Fixed £ markup
A fixed markup setting will automatically add in the £ value specified to the price of the product or variation on AliExpress.
For example, a product on AliExpress costs £2.50, you set your fixed markup as £10, so £2.50 + 10.00 = £12.50, so on DropWired the price of the product will appear as £12.50.
This is shown in the example below.
Rounding
DropWired also has a setting which allows you to round prices up to the nearest value that you specify.
Most products on AliExpress are not priced to 'normal' pricing levels, like £1.99 or £1.95. Because prices are converted from US Dollars or Chinese Renminbi they will often appear with odd figures like £1.17 or £1.93.
By assigning rounding, prices imported into DropWired will have the rounded value.
For example, a product on AliExpress costs £2.37 and you assign a rounding value of 95, so on DropWired the price of the product will appear as £2.95.
This is shown in the example below.
Rounding also interacts with the price multiplier and fixed £ markup settings (with rounding being applied after the multiplier/markup is applied).
For example, a product costs £1.37 on AliExpress and you set a fixed markup of £10 with a rounding value of 95p. The imported price in DropWired will be £11.95.
Editing an imported price
The settings above only affect the price that DropWired imports the product at. You are still free to edit the price of the product or variation either on DropWired (before importing into ShopWired).
This is explained in more detail in the guide about customising products.
