Verifying your domain name and email address
Our system uses a third party service called Mandrill for the sending of all emails from your website and account.
Mandrill require all domain names that are sending emails (for example if your website emails are sent from sales@joesshoeshop.com then your domain name is joesshoeshop.com) must be verified.
If you don't verify your domain name, emails sent from your site will be sent from no-reply@ecommercemail.co until you verify them. (If this does happen then any replies your customers send will still come through to you though so don't worry).
How to verify
Verification involves 3 steps. You need to add 2 new DNS records to your domain name (in a similar way to when you pointed your domain name at our servers to make your website show) and then also you need to generate a verification email from Mandrill and enter the code they give into your account with us.
We can assist you in changing the DNS records on your domain name, for assistance please get in touch with us.
Adding a DKIM record
A DKIM is a DNS record on your domain name.
To add a DKIM record you'll need to click to create a new TXT record on your domain name's DNS records.
The DKIM record you need to add is shown below.
Record Name / Host Name / Host
mandrill._domainkey
Value / Points To / Destination / Target
v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=MIGfMA0GCSqGSIb3DQEBAQUAA4GNADCBiQKBgQCrLHiExVd55zd/IQ/J/mRwSRMAocV/hMB3jXwaHH36d9NaVynQFYV8NaWi69c1veUtRzGt7yAioXqLj7Z4TeEUoOLgrKsn8YnckGs9i3B3tVFB+Ch/4mPhXWiNfNdynHWBcPcbJ8kjEQ2U8y78dHZj1YeRXXVvWob2OaKynO8/lQIDAQAB;
You'll need to login to your domain name account (where you registered your domain name) and click to create a new TXT record with the details above.
When you're finished don't forget to save your changes.

The SPF record you need to add is shown below.

Verifying your email
Within your account with us you'll be prompted to enter an email address. This can be any email address on your domain name that you have access to (as shown on the screenshot below).
Next click the 'send' button.
Go to your email inbox and check for an email from 'Mandrill Client Services'. Please note that this email may end up in your spam/junk folder so check there too.
It might take a few minutes for the email to come through to you.
Open the email and it will look like the below.
The part that you want is the URL which starts with http://mandrilapp.... - you'll need to highlight this and copy it to your computer's clipboard (CTRL+C on a Windows computer or CMD+C on an Apple computer).
Paste this into the 'enter the verification URL here' field
Click the 'save' button.
A confirmation message will then appear.
It can take up to 2 hours for the URL to be verified by our system.
Everything's complete
Everything should now be complete.
Please note that DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to 'propagate' throughout the internet and be picked up by our system (although we'd usually expect this to happen within 2 - 6 hours).
When a step is complete, it will disappear from the page.
