Transferring your domain name from another provider
A lot of clients that transfer across to our platform from an existing provider, like Shopify or EKM, have registered their domain name with that provider. Whilst it might not always be essential for you to move the registration of your domain name away from your old website provider, you may prefer to do so.
Transferring a domain name is an easy process that you should be able to complete within about 30 minutes.
You cannot transfer the registration of your domain name to our platform and you so you'll need to chose a new provider for your domain name registration service (known as a domain registrar).
Email accounts/hosting
If your old provider also provides email accounts for your domain name (like sales@yourdomain.com) you will need to take this into account when choosing a new domain registrar.
Different registrars have different pricing for email accounts. Some will include a handful of email accounts as part of the package or a wider package that you can purchase from them.
Website hosting
Please be aware that when choosing a new provider you will not need to purchase a website hosting service from them. Our platform provides full hosting for your ecommerce website.
Choosing a new provider
A quick search on Google will reveal a huge choice of domain registrars.
Our recommendation is to use Namesco.
