What is a hexadecimal colour reference?
You may have a particular feature on our website where you need to use a hexadecimal colour reference.
A hexadecimal colour reference is actually a lot simpler than it sounds. Put simply, it's just a 6 digit code that represents a particular colour to be displayed on a website.
An example of a hexadecimal colour reference is #FF0000 which is the code for red. Or #FFFFFF is white. Some more examples can be found on a Wikipedia article at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_colors#HTML_color_names
You can get the hexadecimal colour reference for a colour you want to use, using a colour picker. A good colour picker is available at www.colorpicker.com (the hexadecimal code is shown at the top of the colours).
When using the hexadecimal colour reference on your website it must start with the # character, e.g. #FF0000 not FF0000.
