What size logo should I upload?

Your company's logo is usually shown in the top left corner or top centre of your website.

Our system is designed to automatically resize your logo when displaying it on your website. So if you upload a very large file, our system will shrink it down for you.

Having said that, there is one thing you should be aware of when uploading your logo.

If you look at the logo above it just looks like a normal logo file.

In the screenshot above we've transferred the logo file onto the website. You'll notice that it appears significantly smaller on the website than in the first screenshot.

This is because there is a lot of empty space in the logo file.

In the screenshot above you can see this empty white space (because we've surrounded the file with a light grey background).

When uploading a logo file it's important to make sure that you don't upload with an empty space like this and instead make sure that the edge of the file is where the logo image ends, like the screenshot below.

Doing this means that your logo is able to appear larger on the website without pushing any of the other website content.

You will need to edit your logo file in image editing software like Photoshop.

How can I make my logo appear larger?

Your logo can be made to appear larger on your website by increasing the size made available to it in the website's file. You can either do this yourself (by editing the CSS) or we'll be happy to do it for you free of charge. Please contact us and ask us to increase the size for you. Please provide information about how much bigger you want it to be displayed, e.g. 'twice as big' or 'about 150% of its current size'.

What type of file should I upload?

You can upload either a PNG, JPG, JPEG or GIF file.

What shape logo works best?

Because of the way that website's work its often best to upload your logo in landscape format (the width is greater than the height). If your logo is square or portrait (where the height is greater than the width) they often won't work as well when displayed on a website as they can push other content down the page and make your website's header much larger than it should or needs to be.
