Downloading customer data

The GDPR gives individuals the right to see a copy of the personal data that you hold about them and for that data to be provided to them in a portable format.

If a customer makes a request for you to show them their personal data, you can download their customer record from within your account.

To do this select Customers from the menu and find the customer in the ‘Existing Customers’ section. Then select the download link:

A CSV file containing the customer’s information will then be downloaded to your computer’s hard drive.

Please note!

You have a legal duty to verify the identity of the customer you are sending the information to before you send the information to them. Sending personal information about a customer to someone who isn’t the customer would be a serious breach of GDPR.

The customer record isn’t the only place on the platform that personally identifiable information is attached to an individual. Each order that a customer places also contains personal information (such as their billing/delivery names, email addresses, telephone numbers and postal addresses).

At the bottom of a customer record is a section containing their order history:

Select the ID for each order and then click Download in the top right corner of the screen:

A CSV file of the order details will then be downloaded to your computer’s hard drive.
