Launch checklist
To assist you in completing a successful launch of your ShopWired store we've prepared the checklists below for you to follow.
There are two checklists, one for if your ShopWired store is a brand new website, and the other for if you have moved to ShopWired from another provider.
These checklists assume you have covered the basics of adding products, categories etc. - for assistance with those items please consult our setting up your store help guides.
Launching a new website
• Customise your theme template
• Make sure you have created any necessary content pages on your new website (like 'About Us' or 'Terms & Conditions')
• Check all the links on your website's menus to make sure that they work and link to the correct page
• After setting up your payment gateway, complete a test purchase to make sure it works correctly
• Make sure you have delivery rates setup for all cart scenarios - check out our guidance here
• Install Google Analytics for visitor tracking
• Install conversion tracking code (if in use)
• Make sure you have entered any appropriate SEO tags for your pages (such as the title tag and meta description tag for your home page) - see here
• If you use Facebook advertising - install the Facebook Tracking Pixel
• Change the DNS on your domain name to point to the ShopWired servers
• Generate an SSL certificate for your website
• After launching your website we'd recommend utilising Google Search Console
Launching an existing website
• Make sure you have setup 301 redirects if any page URLs have changed
• If necessary, customise your website's 404 error page in case your website has any broken links
• Make sure you have copied across or adding any existing content pages to your new webiste (like About Us or Terms & Conditions) - see here
• Check all the links on your website's menus to make sure that they work and link to the correct page - see here
• After setting up your payment gateway, complete a test purchase to make sure it works correctly
• Make sure you have delivery rates setup for all cart scenarios - check out our guidance here
• Install Google Analytics for visitor tracking
• Install conversion tracking code (if in use)
• Install any third party Javascript or other scripts that are present on your existing website (including live chat) - see here
• Make sure you have entered any appropriate SEO tags for your pages (such as the title tag and meta description tag for your home page) - see here
• If you use Facebook advertising - install the Facebook Tracking Pixel
• If your website has a good position in search engine results make a note of your website's current positions for your keywords so you can check them after launch
• Change the DNS on your domain name to point to the ShopWired servers
• Generate an SSL certificate for your website
• After launching your website we'd recommend utilising Google Search Console
